Bering Yachts Showcases Incredible Range of Products & Services at PBIBS 2024

By Frances Flannagan

At the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2024 (PBIBS), Superyachts.com spoke to Alexei Mikhailov, Founder & President of Bering Yachts, about some exciting new products and initiatives from the Turkish yard. Highlighting the ways in which its smaller vessels are set apart from others on the market as well as its after-sale offerings, Mikhailov showcased Bering’s dedication and commitment to delivering its clients the most premium vessels and services.

Making the decision to present smaller vessels at PBIBS, Bering Yachts proudly displayed its new Bering 60 Catamaran at the 2024 edition of the show. This decision was due to the US market placing an emphasis on practicality, which is at the crux of the Bering 60’s design.

The Bering 60 is a displacement catamaran, with a notable gross tonnage and a maximum speed of 15 knots. She is an exploration cat, with several modifications made to cater for long range cruising including the number of staterooms increased from four to six.

Mikhailov described the many advantages of the catamaran, one of which being her shallow draft, making her the ideal vessel for exploring remote destinations and shallow waters.

The second new product that Mikhailov provided an insight into was the Bering 120: a 37m yacht which, like the Bering 60, appears larger than yachts of a similar size due to her large gross tonnage and her unusual architecture which is usually seen on boats over 60 metres. The Bering 120 boasts an Owners deck, VIPS on the main deck and a beach club on the same level as a swim platform, able to accommodate 12 guests and nine crew.

Bering’s boats which are under 24m are extraordinarily large for their size, boasting generous volumes and able to carry a significant amount of fuel and equipment, with lots of storage for long explorations. These smaller boats are set apart from others in their category due to them offering similar capabilities to much larger boats.

For Bering, it is not only the build process and delivery which is important, but the after-sale of its yachts as well.

Mikhalov commented: ‘We think that after-sale is very important, and not just to provide the maintenance during the warranty period. It's also to provide the comfort of ownership of the vessel. So we have four after-sale packages: the basic one covers all your maintenance, and then you can upgrade this package to full management, including charter operation. So it's up to the customer to see what capacity he would like us to participate in the yacht ownership.’
